Courtyard Congregation Centre, Hassan

An old temple placed on the edge of a small village settlement, steadily flowing Hemavathi river located at a minute’s distance from the settlement, all this amidst the lush green paddy fields, chirping birds, mowing cattle, sweet aroma of freshly cooked food and melodic chanting of the temple….

The temple forms the most important element of the settlement and it has followers through family lineage throughout Karnataka.  The temple has regular rituals and proceedings throughout the year and the village witnesses floating population continuously.

The vernacular courtyard concept was retained for the congregation center next to the 500 year old temple to keep the values of the culture intact.

The spaces have been designed for the comfort of the pilgrims without alienating from the local setup. The feel of peace and tranquility is intact in the design which elevates the perceptual experience.

All problems are solved by good design
